ABOUT THIS

This blog is about my activities on amateur radio from my retirement location in Qulin, MO. I am active on 80m thru 6m (with the exception of 60m) with 95+% utilizing the digital FT4 and FT8 modes (FTx)
I upload to LoTW and Club Log at the end of every session on the air. I QSL 100% for all non-W/VE QSO's via the bureau - which I do once a year. W/VE are replied to direct - NO SASE required but appreciated. I do not upload to eQSL or QRZ.com

Operational Update

I have been sorely lax in updating this blog - I have no excuse for this!  But it has been a pretty decent time, to wit:

1)    DX Marathon is now at 113 points- 85 entities and 28 zones.  They haven't been coming in a flood, just a trickle.  Every few days I pick up another counter.

2)    12m has been very, very good to me!  Firstly, I am only a couple states away from working them all, and are currently only lacking 2 of the 48 I have worked getting confirmed.  Secondly, for 12m DXCC, I have surpassed the 100 entity worked mark with 103 worked.  I have 86 of the confirmed in LoTW right now - 14 away from DXCC on that band!

3)    I have been experimenting with different FT/4/FT8 software and have kind of settled on WSJT-S Improved.  It is kind of the black sheep of the flock, but it is pretty powerful.  Will give it a good run for a few weeks to see if I still prefer it.

4)    Reconfigured the operating position to be more ergonomic (IMHO) and will be posting an updated shack photo at the top in a day or so.
