ABOUT THIS

This blog is about my activities on amateur radio from my retirement location in Qulin, MO. I am active on 80m thru 6m (with the exception of 60m) with 95+% utilizing the digital FT4 and FT8 modes (FTx)
I upload to LoTW and Club Log at the end of every session on the air. I QSL 100% for all non-W/VE QSO's via the bureau - which I do once a year. W/VE are replied to direct - NO SASE required but appreciated. I do not upload to eQSL or QRZ.com

Weekly Update - Monday 20 Jan 2025

1)    Been a pretty good DXing week as well - picked up a few new ones and confirmed some of them already too!  12m has been especially good this week and it may very well be the next DXCC domino to fall for me.  One metric that I don't check often is that it is incidental to my main DXCC focus - the ARRL DXCC Challenge.  You have to work 1000 band/entities to get it, i.e. a total of all of your DXCC confirmations on all of the bands 160m through 6m (except 60m).  I am sitting at 656 (or 65.6% of the required counters).  That one is a long way off for sure.

2)    DX Marathon is sitting at 88 points - 64 DXCC entities and 24 Zones.  Not to worry as this is a year long event, so I am sure that I will get a fair amount of new counters.  Still, not bad for just under 3 weeks of the event.
